- Jared Koenig won the District and Regional Competition for his Proficiency in Diversified Horticulture
- Joshua Borczak won the Regional Award for his project in Diversified Horticulture
- 5th place team in Statewide Nursery Landscape Competition

Art |
- Georgia Scholastic Art Competition held at Georgia State University Jesse Brooks (12th grade) was accepted into this highly competitive state competition! Over 1300 entries were considered and Jesse received an award for all three of his submissions with one painting receiving the Gold Key award.

- Our three bands (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band) received ratings of Superior at the Large Group Performance Evaluation (a.k.a. Festival).
- 12 students selected for All State Band with one first chair
- 374 students selected state wide
- 25 students selected for District Honor Band

- Girls Region Champions, State Champion AAAA Runner up
- Boys Region Runner up, State Champion AAAA Runner up

- Keith Browning was selected to participate in the 2008 Georgia All State Reading Chorus
- Only 95 students who went through this rigorous audition process were chosen to participate in this outstanding choir

- Display and presentation by the APEX Institute with visiting speaker on the subject “The Black in Georgia Politics”.
